Housing asset management in First Nations communities goes beyond construction; it is about supporting our cultural growth, respecting mother earth, creating sustainable environments, and building our own futures.

FNHIC has created a Housing Pilot Project, which is designed to gather and collect information to assist nations to repair and maintain existing homes and plan for future housing needs. 

This project will consist of one or more of the following services:

  • Home Condition Assessments

  • Data Entry/Data System (i.e. Asset Planner) 

  • Housing & Maintenance Staff Training

  • Final Report and Presentation to Community and Leadership

  • Ongoing support for system updates

  • Data Management & Analysis using asset mgnt software programs

  • Prepare accurate community plans

  • Maintenance and repair preparations

  • Forecast future funding requirements up to 50 years

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities

  • Maximize the lifecycle of assets

  • Measures the performance of energy efficiency and sustainability
