Kelly Bird is a plains Cree member of the Montreal Lake Cree Nation Saskatchewan from the Treaty 6 Territory.  Kelly grew up in Calgary Alberta after a short stay on his home territory.  He went to Mount Royal College on a basketball scholarship.

Kelly always held a strong connection to the coast and moved there to study film at the Canadian College for Film and Acting.  He filmed and edited for the Random Acts of Kindness Tour and ICWRN (Indigenous Child Well-Being Research Network) out of the UVIC Social Work Department and worked at the First People’s House at UVIC.

Over the last ten years, Kelly has worked in Construction, building relationships with reputable companies, buyers, importers and house owners, and has a wealth of construction knowledge where he draws upon as a Regional Service Delivery Coordinator with the First Nations Housing and Infrastructure Council.

When he’s not working, Kelly travels to warm destinations and plays music and sings on stage as much as possible.
