Connie Davis, a member of the Cree/Dunne-Za tribes from the West Moberly First Nations in Treaty 8 Territory, Northeastern British Columbia, calls Fort St. John, BC her home. Here, she cherishes spending precious moments with her grandson, Sawyer Carter-Davis. With a diverse educational background, Connie holds a BCOM with a Major in Accounting from Athabasca University of Alberta, an MBA in Indigenous Governance and Leadership from Simon Fraser University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan.

Connie's professional journey commenced in the gas and oil field, where she garnered invaluable experience with a 4th class power engineering certificate. However, witnessing the adverse impacts of industry on Indigenous lands and rights propelled her towards a mission of sustainability and self-determination for Indigenous communities.

Transitioning into real estate, capital projects, and residential management, Connie spent seven impactful years at CMHC, gaining firsthand insights into Indigenous housing issues. Her dedication to community empowerment led her to FNHIC, where, in December 2022, she embarked on a secondment as a Senior Advisor in Housing, facilitated by a groundbreaking partnership between CMHC and FNHIC. As of February 2024, Connie holds the pivotal role of Director of Indigenous Relations and Engagements, reflecting her commitment to fostering meaningful connections and collaborations within Indigenous communities.

In this multifaceted role, Connie offers invaluable advice and practical strategies, drawing on her extensive experience and ongoing PhD research. Beyond her professional endeavors, Connie finds joy in staying active at the gym, seizing every opportunity to hit the golf course, and relishing quality time with her grandson.
