Corey Janvier is from Chipewyan Prairie Dene First Nation, located in the heart of the Oilsands Region of Fort McMurray, Alberta and now resides in Vancouver, British Columbia. Corey’s passion for community Enhancement/Economic Development today shows in his extensive background originating from a career in Social Work then into Entrepreneurship Business Development/Economic Development with various Indigenous Businesses, Organizations and Communities. Throughout the past 15 years, Corey has been utilizing his gift of networking throughout our ancestor’s Traditional Trading Routes across Western Canada to develop economic strategies for developing and growing business, while never losing focus on community enhancement/investment within each company’s respective traditional territories. As stewards and protectors of the land given to us by our Grandfathers, Corey analyzes business opportunities with environmental, social, and economic development objectives that respect our traditional values and knowledge, for sustainable economic development. Building economic strength with our Environment, Safety and Communities in mind is a major strategic priority for our First Nations and with this in mind, Corey has been able to become an Indigenous Connector/Business Developer across Western Canada.
